Bitcoin treasury model expands to XRP

We have reported extensively on corporations acquiring Bitcoin as part of a treasury diversification model, most notably the Nasdaq-listed firm Strategy – which holds over 2% of Bitcoin’s 21 million capped supply – and the Japanese investment firm MetaPlanet, which has recently become the eighth largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. Some niche firms have expanded this strategy to aquire Solana, the sixth largest cryptocurrency by marketcap and the native coin of the Solana blockchain. Now, this trend has expanded to XRP, the fourth largest cryptocurrency and a key blockchain (XRP Ledger) used for cross-border payments. As we reported a few editions back, XRP has recently secured deals in the UAE to provide block-chain payment solutions for cross-border remittance. This is  significant as the UAE is one of the world’s largest cross-border payment hubs.

Moreover, Apple’s financial ecosystem, Amazon Web Services, and banking networks in the Middle East and Asia, are integrating XRP’s technology.

VivoPower International to raise $121 million to buy XRP for its treasury

In a bold move, the Nasdaq-listed energy firm VivoPower International (VVPR) has recently announced a private capital raise of about $121 million to deploy an XRP-focused digital asset treasury strategy. Saudi Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is the chairman of Eleventh Holding Company, a key investor of VVPR, led the private offering and said the embrace of a digital asset treasury model was influenced by meeting US President Donald Trump.

Having met with President Trump and his leadership group during their recent visit to Saudi Arabia, we believe the timing is appropriate for digital assets and blockchain technology to be rolled out in the Kingdom,” Al Saud said in a SEC filing and press release.

VivoPower’s announcement comes after the SEC published its notice that it was reviewing the WisdomTree XRP Fund, a proposed spot XRP ETF that, if approved, would be the first XRP ETF in the US.

Solving trillion-dollar problems

XRP should be on anyone’s investment radar as it offers a practical solution to the changing dynamics of finance.

As reported on Binance Square:

“As the world moves toward tokenization, instant global settlement, and decentralized finance, XRP stands at the crossroads of utility and necessity. It’s no longer about speculation—it’s about solving trillion-dollar problems.”
