This company does not get rattled. As the Israel-Iran conflict intensified last week, rattling global markets, the Nasdaq-listed Strategy added another $1 billion worth of Bitcoin to its bloated treasury – fully stacked with the world’s top cryptocurrency.
Following the purchase, Strategy’s total holdings now stand at 592,100 BTC, acquired for about $41.8 billion at an average price of $70,666 per coin. The latest purchase also marked the tenth week in a row that Strategy has reported buying Bitcoin, according to the company’s website.
In response to Strategy’s purchase, the CEO of Metaplanet – another corporate firm relentlessly buying Bitcoin – jokingly told Strategy’s chairman Michael Saylor “to leave some for the rest of us.” The Japanese investment firm has just reached its 2025 Bitcoin acquisition goal of 10,000 BTC, which is just shy of Saylor’s last buy.
Both firms contend that Bitcoin will eventually emerge as the world’s reserve currency and asset. Hence, they view global instability not as a detriment to Bitcoin’s rise, rather a catalyst for it.
Despite this, Access Crypto’s Gold versus Bitcoin data monitoring fund has Gold slightly up versus Bitcoin on the week by 0.64%.
